GT owners typically want full-front + arches before the first 5,000 miles — the long bonnet collects stone strikes faster than almost any other coupe we see.
Where we put film on a GT
The panels we cover most often on a Mercedes-AMG GT: the long bonnet (the leading 60cm at minimum, but most owners go full-bonnet), front bumper and side intakes, front wings, A-pillars, mirrors, rocker panels, and the rear arches behind the front wheels (gravel kicks back hard on the GT).
Model-specific things to know
- The bonnet length. Standard partial-front coverage isn't enough — strikes land mid-bonnet. We always quote full-bonnet on AMG GT/GT R.
- The Panamericana grille. The vertical bars chip easily where film can't reach. We mask carefully and apply self-healing film right up to the chrome.
- GT R aero kit. The lower lip and front splitter are vulnerable. We wrap the underside, not just the visible face.
- Solid Yellow / Designo paint. AMG's signature Solar Beam and Designo magnesium paints are notoriously difficult to refinish — film matters more on these cars than almost any other AMG.
