Where we put film on a Model Y / Model 3
The panels we cover most often on a Tesla Model Y / Model 3: front bumper, full bonnet (the leading edge in particular), front wings, mirrors, A-pillars, rocker panels, and the charge-port flap (it gets scratched by chargers).
Model-specific things to know
- The soft Tesla paint. Pearl White and Deep Blue chip rates are well-documented — film pays for itself just protecting the bonnet edge.
- Auto-park sensors. Model Y/3 sensors live in the bumper. We mask them precisely — film goes around them, not over them, to preserve detection accuracy.
- Red Multi-Coat. The £2k+ Red Multi-Coat is impossible to colour-match in a refinish. Full-front PPF is essentially mandatory.
- Frunk lid. Tesla frunk lids are aluminium and dent easily on shut. We don't fix dents but the film over the leading edge prevents chip-then-dent.
